NOAA Radio Free App Reviews

Cool but...

I live in Austin, TX and I really wish there was a radio channel for Austin. I know that our weather warnings are issued from San Antonio though so I choose to use that one. On the down side though, I have found that it is really difficult to choose locations, I usually have to press the button multiple times before it finally opens.

Waste of Money

I bought this app for weather alerts, and it does not work. Every time I try to access the weather radio it says "not available at this time, try again later." What a waste.

Terrible

I live in Tarrant County Texas and my feed has only worked once the time that I got the app I have not been able to pick up anything on that channel since and therefore I have removed it this app is crap

Free and works

Its free and it works. Great for checking the forecast before going sailing. Listening to the forecast gives you more marine focused details than a regular weather app, including small craft advisories.

Noah, you ought to be ashamed of yourself

I grew up on the southern Oregon coast listening to the Noah radio station forecast ocean advisories like attending church before going fishing Ocean salmon fishing with my dad. This radio station was a free institution of my childhood and to anyone who had that small fake veneered plastic wood by the pushbutton on switch. The two free NOAA apps seldom even work as they cant connect to a server. When they do work a major Eastern Washington city Spokane that I live in is not listed. The search comes up null. Even for a free app, NOAH, you can do a lot better

Milwaukee station never works

The Milwaukee station never works despite it coming in on my weather radio at home. It just sits stuck on buffering. Other channels around the state work fine, but this doesnt help me as I live and work in southeastern Wisconsin. I give the app one star, because its useless to me.

Horrible and Does Not Update

Where we are there are severe storms coming and this app doesnt even update! If there is a tornado coming how will we know? The power will be out and this app does not update the radio stations. I do not recommend this app.

Easy to use and free

Great app! Keep up the good work. I fully recommend for those who want to stay informed on the weather in their area or any other area.

Why bother

INCOMPLETE for one thing! Misleading is another

Bad

Disgusting that there isnt a Cincinnati area station on here

Absolutely awful.

When I emailed them to put New Jersey on, they did but then they took it off! What is New Jersey not big enough?! :/

Does what it says

Great app but if developer gone no more updates Im surprised it still works on iPhone 6 Plus into 2016.

Great....when it works

I live near San Antonio Texas. Its not listed. Austin is not listed Corpus Christi is not listed. Theres a total of about 10 stations listed for the entire state. Very disappointed. Uninstalled immediately.

Not working

I was hoping this app would work since we are having severe weather today and Im in need of weather radio. This app would not load after I clicked on the state station and it just said file error. This would be a very useful and handy app if it actually worked.

Useless in Philadelphia, PA

Only radio station in Pennsylvania is Erie -- hundreds of miles from where I live. Twice e-mailed request to add Philadelphia. My request was ignored without comment. I deleted the app. Good if if it works for you. Useless in my location.

Great app, definitely recommend

This app allows you to listen to any NOAA radio channel. Perfect for nostalgia or actually listening to the weather. You can turn off your device or use other apps and it plays in the background. The audio quality is better than the radio—its missing the scratchy filter. Also the GUI is outdated, but the app is simple enough to use. I cant imagine why people are rating this app one star.

Dayton area

The Dayton signal never works how am I supposed to get life saving alerts if it never works? Please fix!!!! Thanks

One of these things is not like the others..

Uses the same private feeds off of wunderground exported into this app. How would I know? St.cloud has been down for a long time and it just Soo happens That its ALSO down on the wunderground site. But hey its portable Soo if I need it on the go and get the warnings out before the stations send out Im ok with it. Clearwater does the same thing as St.cloud

Great App, Convenient

I think this app is very easy to use and provides accurate, up to date information. I have a friend who carries a separate NOAA radio and has to fiddle with it to find current location. This I only need my phone and quickly select my location and can hear accurate, up to date information. Thank you NOAA.

If I could give this ZERO stars I would!!!

One station in Louisiana and its not even one of the top 3 or 4. This app isnt worth the time it takes to download!!
